The Section of Clinical Sciences in the Division of Rheumatology, Immunology and Allergy consists of investigators who are leaders in the field of clinical population sciences research. The Section was established within the Division of Rheumatology, Immunology and Allergy in 2002, with Dr. Jeffrey N. Katz as founding Section Chief. In 2007, Dr. Daniel H. Solomon became Section Chief. The Section builds on the model and structure for clinical research first established in 1977 by Dr. Matthew Liang at the Robert B. Brigham Multipurpose Arthritis Center, a NIAMS P60 program.
